Rebecca & Craig - The Old Post House

untitled-699.jpg

The Old Post House and a big red London bus! When I first met Rebecca to discuss her wedding and she mentioned this all I could think of was "COOL, CAN WE DO IT NOW"  What I love about weddings is how couples have so many different ideas of what they want for their wedding and how they plan their day. I have known Rebecca for quite a while so it was a pleasure to have been asked to capture her wedding day with Craig.

The Old Post House is located in St Fagans Cardiff. Away from the hustle of the city centre and also next to popular St Fagans museum. According to the information shown on their website the Old Post House is a grade II listed building. It is formally the village’s Post Office and Police Station but now has been converted into a bed and breakfast and also a popular wedding venue which owned and run by Chris and Faye Price.

The morning of the wedding involved me going over to Rebecca's house where she was to do the traditional bridal preps. The weather was looking good with sun and blue skies. So the perfect start to the day. Around mid-morning was when the London Red bus arrived in the street to the amazement of some neighbours. It was the first time that I had seen one at a wedding and certainly made a change from the traditional wedding cars.

The purpose of the bus was not only to take the bride to the church but also take the guests from the church to the Old Post House. Everything was going smoothly and to plan. The ceremony was being held at the Holy Trinity Church in Ystrad Mynach. Following the ceremony, everyone headed outside for a confetti shot with the bride and groom. Then, the dreaded. The rain was heading in and it was a quick shout to the guests to get the shots done, being conscious that I didn't want them or the bride and groom getting wet.

As I headed off from the church It really started pouring down. I made contact my assistant Paul who was at the Old Post House and told him what the weather was like and to my amazement he said that it was beautiful there and as i arrived the sun was out with no sign of rain and that was how it was to stay for the rest of the day.
